How FAST can you type?
by JH intake the test and see .
i remember in high school, i was able to type at 40 words per minute after counting my errors, and they way they counted it, if i remember well, was your total words minus the errors you made to give an approximate speed.. here is the test.
it's only a fun quiz so don't be mad if i type faster than you .

elders. IS going to or throwing a birthday party a DFing offense?
by ?me? inas i recall reading in the flock book (maybe i overlooked it).
it is not actually a dfing offense.
it may be "looked down upon" but can you be df'ed?

I was involved in a case where a sister (she had not been at meetings for a while) arranged a birthday party for her non witness daughter.
It went judicial, but she was not disfellowshipped.
officially it is viewed as being part of babylon the great because it is one of there "false" teachings.

Holiday Decorations Not Really Going Up Earlier
by WTWizard inwhile i was a witless, i used to hear all the time that they start putting up halloween and christmas decorations earlier every year.
they always complained that the stores were selling these items earlier every year, and that it was getting "worse" every year.. now that i am an apostate, i no longer see that.
on my way to work on columbus day weekend, i saw a grand total of three houses lit for halloween, with 18 having any decorations whatsoever.

I saw a house in the south side of Glasgow with all of the decorations outside the house and hanging from the roof on October the 22nd.
I might be a fading JW - but christmas is rubbish. Colourful, yes. Good time for families, totally.
But its all about making money.

Jehovah's Witness here.
by nimzo ini have a question about my religion.
when people turn apostate, why do they seem kinda... weird.
they turn back to false teachings and their bible knowledge even proves that.

I am currently an elder and visit here regularly.... Why??? Because something is major wrong with the WTBTS.
All of the changes - flashes of light recently and just about to be published are going to make many question there faith. I was brought up in the truth and this is the first time I have ever started to question it - it all falls to pieces when you start your own research.
The fact you are here means you have questions or doubts. Its hard, oh so hard to question life long beliefs. Can I make a recommendation - Wikipedia Jehovahs WItnesses. The society post info on there, but so do others. very factual, honest look at the org. Give it a look.

@1935 - Enjoy it while you can! (New Article)
by KW13 inwhy not speak to as many witnesses as you can about 1935 being a wonderfully inspired date from jehovah and how clear it was scripturally to the society what this date obviously meant?
really get the witnesses going on about it being the right thing, how the great crowd was recognized, how the society are amazing and all that spew and then...then you wait - just make sure that conversation was memorable.. -----.
its january.

My mother has been talking about this already - "we must be so near the end now" was her conclusion.
Rank and file will embrace the change with open arms and will love it. They will view it as the latest revelation.
Only the odd one or two "thinking" people will stop to consider what it really means.
This change is huge and could be the groundwork for big change coming - 144000 becomes a symbolic number perhaps.
I just wish more would stop to reason on it - basically what JWs preached / believed for over 70 years was wrong.

by Dansk inwould someone seriously consider arranging for an apostafest up in scotland next year?
i know i'm asking this early but i feel it would be good to put the feelers out now.. obviously, it would have to be a location easy to get to - so that means stornoway is out!
sorry, ross & xena.

I would love to come but it would be very tricky.
but can i suggest Glasgow - best for shops, eating out & pubs. Nicer people as well, though I am totally biased.
Remember - GLASGOW = Centre of the Universe.
